ot so long ago or a very long time ago—nobody can quite agree which—computer games were, well, different. Constrained by limitations such as unavailability of sound, nonexistent hard disks, small amounts of RAM, and crude graphics capability, game designers and companies had to rely on something else to bring the bacon home. So, in addition to a robust game, physical items were often added. Accompanying the thick manual, were whimsical props. Comic books, balloons, metal trinkets, cloth maps, and iron-on decals were just a few items that graced the total package in an effort to enhance the storytelling experience.

For those who remember (or who would like to), Pix Z’s Quest Chest offers games representative of this other era of computer gaming, for sale and trade--games filled with memories of a long time ago yesterday.
